Terri Dilling is inspired by the beauty and complexity of the natural world, especially its structures, patterns and cycles. Her abstract work makes reference to the landscape around us and also to the emotional landscape within.  She incorporates drawing, painting and printmaking techniques, building up many layers to achieve a sense of visual depth.  Her paintings convey both movement and a sense of balance.  “I am intrigued by the transformation of an artwork during its creation” says Dilling. “Some elements get pushed back and covered over, while others are pulled forward, and when a painting is finally complete, it contains a rich history.  It also reflects how every moment is ephemeral.”

Dilling received a BA from Indiana University, a BFA Georgia State University, and has also studied visual arts in England, Spain, and Italy. She has received numerous grants and awards, and her work is in many collections around the world. The artist currently lives and works in Atlanta.
